I'm back from being missing! Hallelujah!
I noticed in the past 6 months the new logo has been pushed onto the site and the namespace has been changed. Wow.
I will not be doing much article work but more fundamental Wikipedia stuff, like basic template messages. This is because I only have basic knowledge of the syllabary, little to no vocabulary and absolutely no grammar knowledge. Wikiacc 22:49, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)
English content
ᎦᏁᏟᏴᏓ ᎰᏪᎸᎦHi Wikiacc,
Sorry for making quick changes to pages without discussing much but I monitor a long list of inactive Wikipedias, so when there is vandalism or some other objectionable edit, I usually just revert if it's by an IP, and if it's by a registered user I usually revert with a brief (and sometimes blunt) explanation.
You are indeed right that the Cherokee Wikipedia is a 'dead wiki'.
However, of all the "dead Wikis" I have seen become "living Wikis", not a single one of them has had much content in English, and probably 90% of them I had worked on to turn them into the beginnings of a real Wikipedia in that language using no English (for an example that has yet to take off, check the Hawai`ian Wikipedia).
I am responsible for most of the country stubs here at the Cherokee Wikipedia - they're quick and easy to make, with such a short sentence it's easier to make sure it's correct, and chances are that even such basic information as "China is a country in Asia' is likely to never have been published in Cherokee before. I personally think that all the English pages here should be deleted.
For inspiration look at the Georgian Wikipedia. Just a couple of months ago, the only content it had was minimal stuff I added, and now it has well over 1000 pages.
More later. Node ue 21:59, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Node ue,
- I understand what you are saying, and I agree with your points. The problem is not that this wiki is dead (which it is only in part, I would say more like "coma") but that there is little contribution (besides that of anynonymous users) or discussion. I just have one suggestion: if it isn't too much of a hassle to you, could you please sign in to make your edits? (That way I can know it is you and not some vandalizing or unreasonable anonymous user.)
- Thanks. ᏫᎩᏯᎩ (Wikiacc) 19:51, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Tsalagisation and deletion threats and ᎭᏡ ᎦᏧ ᎭᏢ ᎡᏤ?????
ᎦᏁᏟᏴᏓ ᎰᏪᎸᎦFrom en:User talk:Wikiacc
Do you have any idea how to get ahold of Etse and/or get another management type appointed for the Tsalagi Wikipedia, so at least a start can be made at replacing the static, outdated, woefully English content on the ᎤᎵᎮᎵᏍᏗ with at least a facsimile of ᏣᎳᎩ? Did you see the recent activity there with broadband speedy deletion notices? --Haruo 08:24, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
- Node ue has discussed the deletion notices and Tsalagisation with me previously; see User talk:Wikiacc and User talk:24.251.198.251. Etse has not responded to recent messages, and has not been very active on any Wikipedia (last activity was deletion of own userpage in May 2005). (Etse is the only admin; see Special:Listadmins.) As Etse is not contactable via the Wikipedia email system, I would draw the conclusion that contact is not possible. --Wikiacc (talk) 19:30, August 2, 2005 (UTC)
Article request
ᎦᏁᏟᏴᏓ ᎰᏪᎸᎦGreetings Wikiacc!, Can you please help me write a stub for this article which is based on this English article. Just 2-5 lines would be sufficient enough and your help would be appreciated. (I do not know what the correct Cherokee title should be). Thanks.

- Sorry for the delay; I have not been on the Cherokee Wikipedia for a long time, mainly because I don't know the language. That is the same reason why I am unable to help you. Good luck on your article! ᏫᎩᏯᎩ (Wikiacc) (talk) 20:17, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
